Frozen Take Away Song

Today we have made up a song to help us remember how to write our take away number sentences.

We used the tune of one of our favourite songs and we blew Miss O'Donnell's socks off with how good we were at taking away!

We all worked in pairs and didn't even need any help!

Do you like our song?

Can you help?

When we heard about the fire at Manchester Dogs' Home today, we were so sad!

We remembered all the people helped us when we had a fire in our school, like the fire fighters and ASDA who made sure all of us had a nice dinner that day.

We wanted to  help make sure the dogs who survived were well looked after and comfy in their new home with plenty of food.

To try and get lots of people to help too, we made some posters and a video.

Please have a look and see if you can do anything to help the dogs.

Dragons!

This week Mr John discovered a dragon egg whilst he was clearing the garden near our class. We looked carefully at it in class as well as looking at lots of pictures of dragons to try to help us imagine what the dragon might look like. We also thought about what it might do, where it might normally live and some other interesting facts.

The adults in class were so proud of our writing! What do you think?

Easter time!

We had such a busy time before the holidays preparing for Easter. We found out about all the special days leading up to Easter especially Holy Week. We did lots of drama, role play, art and DT to help us learn all about this important time.

We made gardens of Gethsemane...

We showed everyone how fantastic we are at singing in our Easter song show...

We took lots of care when we made our Easter story booklets and took them home so we could share the story with our families.

We also made cards, crosses and chocolate nests...

Surprisingly, just before we went home on the last day, we came back from lunch to find footprints from a special visitor. The Easter Bunny had been! He'd left us lots of clues which we followed and eventually found a basket full of treats. After waiting for 15 minutes, we had to send out a search party for Mr Kerton and his group who got rather lost... we were very happy when they joined the rest of the class at the finish so we could share the treats together!

The Three Little Pigs Science Investigation

At the end of our science work on materials we looked at the houses the pigs had made and which material was the strongest. We decided to build some houses for the pigs using the materials we had in school and at home to investigate whether they were strong enough to keep the wolf away.
After we had finished our building jobs, we tested the houses outside to see if we could blow them down. We had so much fun!
